A mature model‐based information technology would have information utilities for advanced knowledge bases which can use: 1. models with trajectory behavior, 2. models with structural behavior, 3. models with point behavior, 4. models with mixed behavior, 5. pictorial knowledge, 6. symbolic model processing techniques, and 7. artificial intelligence techniques. This paper elaborates on these possibilities to lay down the foundations of an advanced model‐based information technology.
