EXTENDED SCAT is a specal purpose language for programming real time computers to control the execution of psychological experiments. This paper describes in detail the EXTENDED SCAT language and briefly outlines the associated software. A programming example is included. This SCAT program performs a variate of Sternberg's (1966) high speed memory search paradigm.
