Abstract Eleven computer programs are presented for analysis of autonomic data. The statistical procedures executed by these programs are drawn primarily from analysis of variance, and where appropriate the standard F ‐tests are supplemented by tests for trend. The trend analysis provides for a detailed appraisal of the form and amplitude of autonomic response curves, and it can detect curve changes that result from such processes as habituation, learning and extinction. It can also detect between‐group differences in curve form and identify the group(s) that are primarily responsible for the differences.
