In constructing models of behavioral change (conditioned response, decision response, learning, etc.), one must make certain assumptions about the nature of the stimulus, of the environment from which it is selected, and of the determinants of response. Here a consistent taxonomy of these factors is offered together with a typology of mathematical models, where a type of model is associated with each combination of types of behavioral determinants.
