Ether‐linked lysophosphatidic acids were analysed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry as trimethylsilyl derivatives without hydrolytic pretreatment. Application of the direct derivatization followed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry was expanded to analyses of various analogues of ether‐linked lysophosphatidic acids in which chemical groups attached at the sn ‐2‐position of the glycerol moiety and to the phosphate portion were modified.
