The structure elucidation of a novel branched‐chain hexasaccharide glycoside, muscaroside B, has been aided by fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry Muscaroside A—a straight‐chain analogue having the same 27‐norlanostane skeleton and spirofused tetrahydrofuran ring—and digitonin—a branched‐chain steroidal glycoside— were used as standards.
