Negative ion chemical ionization spectra, with [OH] − as the reactant ion are presented for some underivatized glucuronides R—O—gluc. The non‐volatile samples are introduced by thermal desorption from a Pt wire inside the source. The spectra show abundant [M—H] − ions, and [R—O] − ions, presenting information about the molecular weight and the aglycone. The method can be considered as an alternative to field desorption mass spectrometry, for characterization of compounds of these types.
