Field desorption mass spectra of a homologous series of synthetic phosphatidylsulfocholines (dimyristoyl‐, dipalmitoyl‐, distearoyl‐ and dioleoyl‐) are reported. Prominent ions related to the intact molecule ([M + 1] + , [M + 15] + , etc.) were detected, as well as characteristic fragmentation ions, and will be useful for the identification and analysis of these compounds isolated from natural sources.
