On incubation with rat liver microsomes, N , N ‐dimethyl‐ 5H ‐dibenzo[ a , d ]cycloheptene‐Δ 5,γ ‐propylamine is converted to the N ‐oxide. The identification of this metabolite has been achieved by the use of gas chromatography, mass spectrometry and thin‐layer chromatography.
