Ru/Co/Ti catalysts prepared by two‐step electrodeposition and subsequent annealing were applied to the oxygen evolution reaction ( OER ) during acidic water electrolysis. The Co interlayers, which were electrodeposited for varying deposition times, strongly affected the morphology of the Ru/Co/Ti catalysts after annealing. Cracks and rolled‐up parts appeared, and Co oxide nanowalls became attached to the Ru surface. During the initial stages of the OER , a synergetic effect was observed between Ru and the Co oxides. The Ru/Co/Ti catalyst demonstrated approximately three to four‐fold higher activity than the Co interlayer‐free Ru/Ti catalyst.
