The graphic above shows images in the decolored and colored states for half‐ (top) and full‐cell (bottom) black electrochromic devices (ECDs). A half cell of double‐layered nanostructured electrochromic electrode is used as a working electrode, Pt wire as a counterelectrode, and Ag/AgCl as a reference electrode. The decoloration and coloration voltage is 0.5 (transparent) and −0.7 V (black). A full‐cell ECD consists of a nanostructured electrochromic layer electrode, a nanostructured ion storage layer electrode, and an electrolyte layer. The decoloration and coloration voltage is 0.5 (transparent) and −2.5 V (black).
