This communication describes a method for the production of high levels of rhamnolipid from Pseudomonas aeruginosa in a defined culture medium containing corn oil. The isolated rhamnolipid is then hydrolyzed to produce a mixture of rhamnose and a fatty acid, 3-hydroxydecanoic acid, which are easily separated
