The on‐line bioreactor identification methodology of the preceding article (Part I) was tested with a series of numerical simulations and laboratory experiments. Results of these studies presented herein confirm the superior characteristics of the proposed estimator and its applicability to modelling studies, or on‐line bioreactor control. The sensitivity of the estimation scheme with respect to the respiratory quotient measurement is discussed, and suggestions to bypass these problems are offered.
