Production of nicotinic acid from Saccharomyces cerevisiae in exponential growth on glucose was found to be growth associated, and in the stationary and decline phase was found to be death associated. A kinetic model was developed to describe the kinetics of growth of S. cerevisiae and the production of nicotinic acid.
