Apolar derivatives of polyethylenimine in aqueous solution have been shown previously to bind organic anions very strongly. These studies have been extended to other charged and noncharged small molecules, as well as to derivatives of polyethyl‐enimine with much reduced positive charge. From these investigations the effects of charge and of structure of the small molecules can be assessed.
