A new method is proposed for determining chemical rate contants in dimerization reactions of globular proteins. Light scattering from a solution of charged macromolecules in and applied electric field gives a series of bands whose widths can be used to deduce the reaction rate contants. This method should be applicable to other types of peactions. First order reactions are also considered.
