By combining the heat of dilution of a poly(γ‐benzyl L ‐glutamate)–dichloroacetic acid–1, 2‐dichloroethane solution with the corresponding heat of mixing of two solvents, the integrated heat of the coil–helix transition of poly(γ‐benzyl L ‐glutamate) in the solution was estimated to be about 750 cal/mole.
