A Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell clone is created by precisely placing a gene cassette into a specific chromosomal location via clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)‐Cas9. The location is chosen based on transcriptome analysis to ensure stable and high‐level expression of an antibody or a protein gene of interest. One of the applications is that the gene of a target antibody or protein can be readily inserted into the cassette and efficiently matured for higher affinity and/or stability for the purpose of disease treatment or diagnosis. This is reported by Yingjun Fan, Wei Jiang, Fanlei Ran, Ruiqi Luo, Lili An and Haiying Hang in the article 1900313.
