Bioinspired virus‐like particles (VLPs) have evolved to become a widely‐accepted biotechnology. They can play the role of versatile nanoscaffolds through surface display and inside encapsulation of diverse cargos for vaccines, imaging, catalysis, or other applications. The full de novo design of VLPs would be a challenging task, which can fully support the biofabrication of smart, robust, and multifunctional nanoparticles. This is reported by Xuanwei Ding, Dong Liu, George Booth, Wei Gao and Yuan Lu, article number 1700324 . The cover image is designed by Dong Liu and his friend Siqin Zeng. Mr. Liu is one of the authors of the article. Ms. Zeng is from the Department of Art and Crafts, Academy of Art & Design, Tsinghua University, China.
