The experimental data of the linear embryonal and postembryonal growth of pond snail Lymnaea stagnalis L. have been estimated using logistic, polynomial, Gompertz's and Bertalanffy's functions of growth. The obtained results have shown that, based on the square error value, Gompertz function is, among all growth functions used, the most adequate for the estimation of our experimental data concerning embryonal growth and 5‐parameter logistic functions is the most suitable for the estimation of postembryonal growth data.
