A probability model to classify the otherwise unclassified causes of death due to two competing risks R 1 and R 2 has been evolved in this paper. A simple model based on Poisson inputs has been illustrated by numerical illustrations. Further generalization of the model with more than two competing risks is straightforward for the given model.
