This paper considers the distribution of previously proposed goodness of fit tests when some or all of the covariates are dichotomous variables. The simulations show that of the statistics suggested for testing fit only one appears suitable for use with discrete covariates. This statistic uses conditional maximum likelihood estimates and groups the estimated probabilities into groups of equal size or into groups based on the patterns of the covariates when these are few in number.
