A BAYESian probability model is described to estimate population distributions when micro or macro data about the migration of the population are available. Applying the procedure to the statistical data for two groups of 5 regions in the BRD, the macro Bayesian estimators lead to a projection of the population distributions which has a better fit than the calculated with micro Bayesian estimators. This is a basic result with a great advantage because it is possible to predict population distributions selecting only macro sample data.
