A nonparametric procedure is described which can be used to distinguish certain types of very irregular curves. The lengths of some waves of the curves resp. their frequencies are estimated unbiasedly. An example of such curves are the so called arterypulse‐waves which can be used to diagnose some psychiatric deseases.
