A variety of studies in recent years show that nonprofit organizations are struggling to increase their diversity both on their staff and in leadership positions—including executive directors/CEOs and on their boards. A study released in 2020 by CariClub, a New York City‐based organization that matches corporate employees with nonprofit boards, provides pertinent insight on the issue of board diversity in particular.
