We review recent results from the SHARC Survey for distant X‐ray clusters of galaxies. We first discuss the SHARC South project which finds no evidence for evolution in the faint end of the X‐ray cluster luminosity function out to a redshift of z ≲ 0.7. We then give an overview of the Bright SHARC project; this project will provide an independent measurement of the evolution of bright ( L x [0.5 ‐ 2keV] > 3 × 10 44 erg s −1 ) X‐ray clusters and allow us to put strong constraints on the value of ω 0 .
