The estimation of distances to Hyades and Praesepe clusters by a geometrical method

The capability of a geometrical distance estimation method is verified by numerical modelling for the Praesepe cluster. The distance estimated by Hertzsprung's method is r = 175 ± 47 pc. The same method gives for the distance to the Hyades r = 48.4 ± 2.2 pc.
