An analytical expression for the difference caused by the atmospheric drag between the nodal and keplerian periods of artificial satellites with quasi‐circular orbits, moving in a spherically symmetrical atmosphere, is given. Some corresponding equations found by different authors are obtained as particular cases of the given equation.
