The Fock–Tani formalism is a first‐principles method to obtain effective interactions from microscopic Hamiltonians. Originally derived for meson–meson or baryon–baryon scattering, we present in this paper a brief introduction to the Fock–Tani formalism and formulate the meson–baryon potential, with the scattering and annihilation parts explicitly taken into account, and the corresponding diagrams. Finally, we present the differential and total cross‐section calculations that will be used, in the near future, in the description of kaon–nucleon interactions.
