The preliminary results of the variability survey in the Þeld of the very young open cluster NGC 6823 are reported. Several dozen variables were found, including the fourteen already known. The new variable stars comprise eight SPB candidates, a δ Sct star, three eclipsing binaries, and a large sample of stars with mostly irregular light variations. The latter group contains over thirty stars that are likely pre‐main sequence members of the cluster (© 2012 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
