I offer some very brief questions and remarks on the state of helioseismology, specifically: i) What is the relationship between the study of a phenomenon in its own right, its use as a tool, and the broader phenomena to which the tool can be applied? ii) Does the jargon of our local helioseismic techniques serve us well? iii) What is the role of the interactions with the areas of science with which helioseismology interacts most closely?
