Smoothed Particle Magnetohydrodynamics (SPMHD) algorithms are tested with a Brio & Wu shocktube in order to find a suitable algorithm for treating magnetic shocks in clusters of galaxies. In particular the treatment of a nonvanishing divergence of B is discussed because of its appearance due to numerical errors. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
