The Virgo cluster spiral galaxy NGC 4654 shows clear signs of interaction, but the nature of this interaction is still unclear. Two possibilities have been discussed: ram pressure stripping and tidal interaction with NGC 4639. Dynamical simulations speak in favor of the tidal interaction with small addition of constant ram pressure. We present synthetic polarized intensity maps calculated using 3D MHD simulations based on gas velocity field evolution. Our results are compared with recent Effelsberg 100 m telescope observations of NGC 4654. The MHD model and the observations are qualitatively similar. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
