The result of S ANDAGE and T AMMANN (1975) that the peculiar motion of the galaxies superimposed on the H UBBLE flow is probably smaller than 50 km/s shows that the kinetic energy density of the “galaxy gas” was always smaller than the energy density of radiation or matter if the galaxies were formed later than z ≈ 10 4 . The galaxies possessed initial velocities 0.2 c if they orginated in the recombination area.
