It is concluded that the generation regions of the spots are disposed in latitudes below 60° relative to the rotation equator in Ap stars. The strongest Sr spots coincide with the extremes of the magnetic field in 17 Com A whereas the number of spots is correlated with the strength of the magnetic field. For β CrB a correlation is found between the strength of the magnetic field deduced from different Fe I lines and the effective optical depth at which these lines are formed.
