The equidensity‐method represents not only new possibilities for analysing photographical images, where an essential augmentation of the content of information is reached by dissolution of the inner structure of the images, but this method is also suitable in the way of an equidensity of first order for marking images on the photographical plate. In the following investigation this possibility is used to measure small structures in the border of the North America Nebula and in the arms of some galaxies and to discuss the results from a statistical point of view. Artificial galaxies produced by random in an experiment are compared with real galaxies with respect to small structures. Possible influences of the equidensity‐method upon the marking of objects are investigated. The usefulness of the method for the marking is shown.
