Eine stellarstatistische Methode zur Bestimmung des Verhältnisses der interstellaren Extinktion zur Verfärbung

After scrutinizing all so far known methods for the determination of the ratio between interstellar extinction and colour excess ( A/E = R ) the paper presents another method based on the comparison of the numbers of stars in an area containing a dark cloud in two different colours. It is tested on several dark clouds. The numbers of stars are taken from POSS copies. The results help to answer the question whether and how the value of R is variable in the galactic system. The value of R does not significantly depend on the cloud chosen; this is in agreement with the findings of other authors.
