This special issue is dedicated to the 18th Asian Chemical Congress (ACC) that takes place in Taipei on 8–12 December 2019, and features contributions by keynote and invited speakers. It includes original research articles, an essay by Dr. Marinda Li Wu on the evolving role of professional societies in international collaboration as well as minireviews on 1D nanomaterial electrocatalysts for CO 2 fixation (highlighted on the front cover, top left), the measurement of ultrafast spectral diffusion and correlation dynamics by 2D electronic spectroscopy (top right), the identification of protein conformational dynamics using spin‐label ESR (bottom left), and the application of dioxygenase‐based chemoenzymatic processes to the total synthesis of natural products (bottom right). The latter is a minireview by Professor Martin Banwell, the recipient of the second Ryoji Noyori ACES Award presented at the second ACES & GDCh Symposium on 10 December 2019 as part of the 2019 ACC. We are grateful to Professor Reuben Jih‐Ru Hwu, the Congress Chairperson of the 18th ACC, for serving as a guest editor for this special issue. More information can be found in the essay by Dr. Marinda Li Wu on page 3956 in Issue 22, 2019 (DOI: 10.1002/asia.201901046).
