Oxidation of aromatic amines has been a powerful tool for connecting π‐conjugated molecules. Originating from aniline oxidation, a variety of reactions and strategies for the preparation of nitrogen‐containing functional π‐conjugated molecules have been developed. This Minireview highlights recent examples of the research of π‐conjugated molecules synthesized through oxidation of aromatic amines. The formation of intra‐ or intermolecular C−C, C−N, or N−N bonds produces functional organic dyes. According to recent trends, the protocol has been extended to the constructions of distorted π‐conjugated molecules under mild reaction conditions. More information can be found in the Minireview by Satoru Hiroto on page 2514 in Issue 15, 2019 (DOI: 10.1002/asia.201900213).
