Soft and shiny : A series of alkylated aromatic thioethers reveal aggregation‐induced emission properties with a strong solvatochromic effect. In addition, selected compounds display soft crystallinity, which was studied in detail using polarized optical microscopy as well as differential scanning calorimetry. A direct correlation between the packing in the crystal lattice, including intra‐ and intermolecular contacts, and the soft crystalline properties was found, thus leading to a deeper understanding of the structure–property relationship. More information can be found in the Full Paper by Michael Giese, Jens Voskuhl et al. on page 814 in Issue 6, 2019 (DOI: 10.1002/asia.201801564).
