Unique microporous structure and interesting catalytic activities have gained MCM‐22 (MWW‐type) zeolite considerable attention. The study featured on the front cover demonstrates the successful seed‐directed synthesis of MWW‐type zeolite in a sodium aluminosilicate gel system free of organic structure directing agents. The H‐form product can serve as catalyst in Friedel—Crafts alkylation of anisole with 1‐phenylethanol, and its catalytic activity is comparable to the conventional MCM‐22. These results open a new perspective for the economically and environmentally friendly production of the industrially important MWW‐type zeolite. More information can be found in the Full Paper by Yoshihiro Kamimura et al. on page 530 in Issue 5, 2017 (DOI: 10.1002/asia.201601569).
