Versatile BSA‐CuS/Gd 2 O 3 hybrid nanoparticles are fabricated by a facile one‐pot albumin‐mediated biomineralization strategy. The obtained multifunctional nanoparticles exhibit strong longitudinal relaxivity, an outstanding photothermal effect, high drug‐loading capacity, and pH/temperature‐responsive drug release. The drug‐loaded BSA‐CuS/Gd 2 O 3 hybrid nanoparticles offer an outstanding synergistic antitumor photothermal chemotherapeutic effect both in vitro and in vivo. This work thus provides technical guidance for designing theranostic agents in a simple way. More information can be found in the Full Paper by Yan‐Yan Fu et al. on page 2458 in Issue 17, 2016 (DOI: 10.1002/asia.201600920).
