Graphene Nanoribbons . Graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) have been attracting increasing attention for their potential applications in nano‐ and optoelectronic devices. However, their structural diversity remains highly limited. In their Communication on page 2134, Xinliang Feng, Klaus Müllen et al. report on a bottom‐up solution synthesis of GNRs with a unique necklace‐like structure. These new GNRs demonstrate an optical bandgap of ca. 1.4 eV, which has not been attained with other GNR structures, and enable further fine‐tuning of GNR bandgaps by structural modulation.
