Metathesis . The demand for propene derivatives has increased significantly in recent years. In their Full Paper on page 1647, Longya Xu, Xiujie Li et al. report on the preparation of a series of molybdenum‐based catalysts for the metathesis of 1‐butene to propene. The catalysts were obtained by supporting Mo species on ordered mesoporous silica SBA‐15 pre‐modified with alumina. Among the catalysts examined, the one with uniformly coated alumina exhibited the best performance in the metathesis reaction.
