Stepwise complexation : A green copper‐based metallo‐supramolecular polymer was successfully synthesized through complexation of Cu II ions with new bis(1,10‐phenanthroline) ligands. The obtained polymer showed an excellent electrochromic color change from green to colorless upon electrochemical reduction of Cu II to Cu I .
