Full circle : Cyclic main‐chain phenylazo naphthalene polymers were prepared by “click” chemistry. The properties of the cyclic polymers, such as photoisomerization behavior, glass transition temperature ( T g ), fluorescence emission, fluorescence lifetime, photoinduced surface relief grating (SRG), and birefringence were investigated and compared with the linear analogues. The cyclic polymers displayed the enhanced properties.
