Have it both ways : Monodisperse noble‐metal nanoparticles were prepared at low temperature and show high catalytic activity in organic reactions in both aqueous and non‐aqueous systems. Especially, the Au nanoparticles can selectively hydrogenate nitroaryl compounds without affecting carbonyl or halogen substituents.
