Luminescent lanthanide hydroxide nanosheets : Dodecyl sulfate intercalated layered Eu hydroxide was exfoliated in formamide to produce unilamellar Eu hydroxide nanosheets, which exhibited characteristic Eu 3+ emission. These nanosheets are promising for a range of applications including ultrathin optical film devices.
