Photocurrent‐generating fullerenes : New fullerene derivatives bearing a phosphonic acid linker (e.g., C 60 (C 6 H 4 ‐Ph‐4) 5 (CH 2 ) 6 PO(OH) 2 ) form self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) on indium tin oxide (ITO) and SnO 2 surfaces, and generate both anodic and cathodic photocurrent in the presence of sacrificing reagents.
