Sera from eight patients with sicca syndrome were studied to find antibodies to salivary gland tissue and other organs. Abnormalities in serum proteins in electrophoresis were compatible with those usually reported in connective tissue disorders. Multiple antibodies, including salivary gland, were demonstrated in only two patients who also had high titers of rheumatoid factor. Two other patients had negative latex agglutination tests. Most of the group had no tissue antibodies.
